Collage Projects
At the height of the late eighties, Acid House and Indie music culture embodied the sixties scene that my generation had missed out on, we grew up digesting imagery from this iconic era and set against a backdrop of post industrial 80's Britain, it was what my generation had been waiting for a chance to write our own chapter in creative youth culture.
I have loved collage since I was a child and this was confirmed upon my first ever visit to an art gallery to see 'The Pop Art Exhibition' at The Royal Academy of Arts in 1991, by this time I was making early collage pieces from Acid House flyers, Magazines and practising Graffiti but it was only on this visit to London that I got to see up close work by artists that still influence everything I do today: Jean Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Peter Blake, Andy Warhol.

Description: "Fame game looks at the modern day obsession with fame, celebrity and the narcissistic and materialistic trappings that people think this brings.
The cult of celebrity seems to be more and more evident in todays society with the rise of reality TV and talent shows to the "get rich - die trying" mentality of young gangsters, with the want to show people through financial status, fame and recognition what they have achieved in life, this has over taken and is often confused with what true happiness is. Who wants fame and who wants money? Its all the same in the game."
